Asbestos Rescue
Why There Is a Need for Asbestos Rescue?
The photo shown was taken on March 23 during a patrol in Wakabayashi Ward, Miyagi Prefecture, where a collapsed structure was found to be releasing asbestos into the surrounding environment.
Upon discovery, our team immediately responded by applying a neutralizing agent at no cost and promptly referred a certified specialist contractor to address the situation.
This incident highlights a critical issue: asbestos had been dispersing for over 11 days without intervention, unknowingly exposing members of the general public unrelated to the disaster to hazardous airborne fibers. It underscores the urgent need for rapid response and public awareness in such cases.
To support this initiative, we are currently seeking volunteer patrol staff who can operate in Fukushima, Miyagi, and Iwate Prefectures.
All volunteers will receive specialized training through our NGO. In addition, we offer free of charge the official Special Education and Certification for Asbestos Handling Workers, as stipulated under the Industrial Safety and Health Act.
Participation in this volunteer program may serve as a valuable credential and provide an advantage in future employment opportunities, even after the completion of your volunteer service.
Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age. No specific qualifications or gender restrictions apply. Individuals from all backgrounds who are committed to contributing to our mission are welcome to apply.
We look forward to your participation.
